English- (9th grade) FIRST MARKING PERIOD

Homework #1- (Signed syllabus)- Please have your parent/guardian sign your syllabus and hand it in by Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
Bring in index cards by Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. We will be using them in class. If you do not have them, you will be marked unprepared.

Homework #2- (SAT Packet)- Complete SAT packet. This homework will be graded as a test. Due Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Do your best!!

Homework- Your SAT Vocabulary Test is this Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. Please study!

Homework (February 27, 2013)- Complete SAT Packet for second set of vocabulary words. Due tomorrow, Thursday February 28, 2013.
Your second SAT Vocabulary Test will be on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Please study!

*Reminder- Have your parent sign the CTE application. This is due on Monday, March 4, 2013. Please discuss your possible major with your parents.

(March 14, 2013)- Complete Vocabulary Packet. Please study your new vocabulary. Your packet is due on Monday, March 18, 2013. You will have a test on your vocabulary next Wednesday (March 20th).

Your Spring Break homework (both the vocabulary packet and the independent reading logs) are due when you come back on April 3, 2013.

Homework- (February 22, 2013)- Read the entire Act One of Hamlet. You will have a quiz on your reading on Monday. Be prepared!

Here is the link to the "No Fear Shakespeare" to read the modern version of Hamlet- No Fear Hamlet. This will help you as you read the old version of Hamlet.

Homework (March 4, 2013)- Read the entire Act Two of Hamlet. You will have a reading quiz on it tomorrow.

Homework (March 5, 2013)- Essay Assignment- Write a two (2) page essay on how Hamlet's "craziness" is affecting two different characters. How is it currently affecting his relationship with the characters and what do you predict will happen? Use examples from the text. Choose from King Claudius, Queen Gertrude, Ophelia, and/or Polonius. You can type the essay or write it in pen only. If it is typed, type it using Times New Roman, 12 point font, and double spaced. Due tomorrow, March 6th.


Homework (March 6, 2013)- Read the entire Act Three of Hamlet. This must be read in order for you to be prepared for class on Monday.
